Mindfulness Practices
We encourage practicing mindfulness whilst using our products in order to create small daily rituals to live more in the present moment. These practices can be incorporated into everyday tasks such as washing-up, cleaning the worktop, or tidying the bathroom. While each practice can complement any Minoma collection, some are enhanced by being more selective when making your choice of collection.
observe your environment
Give your mind a rest from its constant stories by simply observing your surroundings and tuning into your senses. This simple practice is a wonderful place to start and is accessible for everyone. Please follow the below steps:
◊ SELECT – a Minoma product from any collection and use it.
◊ OBSERVE – the environment around you and be present.
◊ CONNECT – with your senses, one by one. Here are some examples to start your journey:
- Notice how the water feels against your skin and how the bottle rests in your hand.
- Take a moment to explore the scent—what aromas can you detect?
- Observe how the product gently lifts away the dirt.
- If you have a drink or snack nearby, notice the flavors as they unfold in your mouth.
◊ LET GO – of thoughts or feelings that appear, let them drift by like clouds in the sky. If they return, don’t resist them; simply notice their presence and gently guide your attention back to the practice.
◊ DISCIPLINE – establish a daily ritual to take short pauses throughout the day to observe the environment with your senses.
triangle breathing
This practice pairs especially well with the CALM collection, as breathwork has a naturally soothing effect on the nervous system. When used with the LOVE collection, place your attention on your heart and think of someone you love as you breathe. Please follow the below steps:
◊ SELECT – a Minoma product and use it.
◊ CONNECT – with your inner self and be present.
◊ BREATHE – deep breaths. Inhale slowly for a count of 3, hold gently for 3, then exhale slowly to a count of 3. If it feels comfortable, deepen the practice by extending your exhale to a count of 4 or 5.
As you breathe in, let the breath flow naturally—starting in the stomach, rising through the lungs, expanding up into the shoulders and then let go of the breath.
◊ LET GO – of thoughts or feelings that appear, let them drift by like clouds in the sky. If they return, don’t resist them; simply notice their presence and gently guide your attention back to the practice.
◊ DISCIPLINE – Establish a daily ritual by taking short pauses throughout the day to practice these brief breathing exercises.
Affirmations
A beautiful way to discipline and focus the mind is through affirmations. By repeating positive words or phrases, affirmations can help to shape new beliefs and gradually reprogram the subconscious mind. This is most relevant when paired with the belief you would like to embody. Please follow the below steps:
◊ IDENTIFY– a belief system you want your mind to adopt – For example, I am worthy, I am calm or I am loved.
◊ SELECT – a Minoma product from corresponding collection and use it. Each collection is paired with an affirmation designed to support the quality it represents, complemented with a unique blend of essential oils (except the SOUL collection that is scent free).
CALM Collection– I am safe, protected and guided while being deeply grounded to earth.
LOVE Collection – I am kind, loving and compassionate to myself and grateful for my life experiences.
POWER Collection– I am strong, resilient and I believe in myself while keeping healthy boundaries.
SOUL Collection– I am deeply connected to my soul and let go of thoughts.
◊ CONNECT – with your inner self and be present.
◊ ALIGN (& READJUST if required) – For affirmations to be effective, you need to genuinely connect with them.
Check within yourself—does the affirmation feel true to you? For example, simply repeating “I am safe, protected, guided, and deeply grounded to the earth” won’t work if you don’t truly feel safe. In that case, adjust the affirmation to something you can accept. You might try: “When I rest in the present moment, I feel connected to the earth” or, if words about safety don’t resonate, choose another protection-focused affirmation, such as “I am in control of my thoughts and emotions.”
Experiment and play with different affirmations until you find one that truly feels right for you.
◊ MANIFEST – a new belief system by repeating your affirmation, either aloud or silently, while reflecting on how it makes you feel.
◊ LET GO – of thoughts or feelings that appear, let them drift by like clouds in the sky. If they return, don’t resist them; simply notice their presence and gently guide your attention back to the affirmation.
◊ DISCIPLINE – Establish a daily ritual of taking short pauses throughout the day to practice affirmations.
Inner Awareness
In this practice, we are offered an opportunity for self-inquiry. Awareness is the first step towards understanding what is happening in our mind and is key to creating change. By noticing the major patterns and themes in our thoughts we can begin to make conscious choices about how to respond to them.
For some, this practice can feel intense—especially if your mind is very busy or if you carry painful trauma. If letting go and releasing old patterns feels difficult or unsafe, consider seeking support from a trauma therapist or life coach.
Please follow the below steps if you feel comfortable trying this practice:
◊ SELECT – a Minoma product and use it.
◊ CONNECT – with your inner self and be present.
◊ BECOME AWARE – of your thoughts and feelings, observing them without being carried away. Which thoughts and emotions are most present in your mind? Can you identify the main stories your mind is repeating? Here are some examples to get you started:
Limiting beliefs: “I am not good enough.”
Negative thoughts / self-talk: “Why am I always shy when meeting new people?”
Fears, anxiety, or stress: “Will my income be enough this month?”
Regrets from past experiences: “Why didn’t I pursue a relationship with person X?”
Sadness from past experiences: “How could my parents treat me that way?”
◊ LET GO – of the stories you’ve identified and allow yourself to release them. This can free you from the blocks that keep you from living the life you desire.
◊ DISCIPLINE – Create a daily habit of pausing throughout the day to go within and become aware of the recurring stories in your mind.
